Shopping Malls
The Ladies' Favorite

Let’s talk about shopping malls and other places where you can find a nice bargain.

Whenever my relatives are back in Ipoh from other countries, there are 2 main activities in their itinerary: eating and shopping.

Shopping in Ipoh is CHEAP and the choices available are still OK, even though it's not as updated and fancy as you can get in Kuala Lumpur.

There are two popular shopping centre out of the few we have in Ipoh, which are the Ipoh Parade and Jaya Jusco.

Other than that, we have:

  • Tesco
  • Tesco Extra
  • Giant
  • The Store
  • Yik Foong
  • Uda Ocean

Besides shopping complex, there is another interesting place to shop or have a walk. Yes, I’m talking about the Malaysian shopping culture - “pasar malam” (night market).

I doubt there is any Malaysian who have never been to “pasar malam”. I'm sure you don't want to miss it too, right?

Recently there is another new place for nice bargain (mostly second-hand products) and source for antiques. Every Sunday morning, there is a flea market near to the Ipoh City Hotel and Grand View Hotel.
