Exciting Laser Tag Battle Game in Ipoh

Laser Tag in Ipoh

Good news for you who think Ipoh is boring, you can now enjoy the exciting laser tag game in Ipoh. Located at the Glamour Mall, Bercham, it's the first of its kind opening in the North of Malaysia.

Gratefully, I've been invited over there to get a feel of playing the laser battle games. It's my first time and it's really fun!

What is Laser Tag Game?

Do you know about war game? It's more or less the same with it. Except it doesn't involve paint balls, helmet etc. There is no dress code too. All you have to do is go there, get in the jacket with lights & laser censor, grab the gun and start playing.

It's simple and safe. You will not get hurt as if the paint balls hit your unprotected skin (frankly, my boss bleed when the paint ball hit his finger during the team building event). And there is no paint that will get yourself and cloth dirty. But you will get the same fun and excitement out of it.

Basically, the laser tag game take place in a dark room with some obstacles. When you hit your opponent on the few areas of the jacket with laser censor or his gun, you score and he will be inactive (no able to shoot) for few seconds. The game ends in approximately 10-15 minutes, you can then check out the score board for winner.

Yo, let's play laser battle!

Various Type of Games

Although it's just the same shooting game but actually it can be played in many different ways with different winning rules. There are over 40 types of laser battle games available.

We are lucky enough to try for three types of game before we getting exhausted.

  1. solo - It's the basic game for starters or casual players. The rule is simple, which is no rule, just shoot anyone in your sight. The highest scorer is the winner.

  2. capture the flag - After the warm up in solo game, we were introduced to this team game. Players are divided into two or three teams, each occupied a base with different colours: green, blue and red. We need to go to the "enemy's" base, shoot at the sensor installed on the ceiling to capture their flag, and run back to our base, shoot at the sensor of our own again to complete the flag capture in order to score. If you get shot when carrying the flag, you'll have to redo the process. So a team may cooperate with some team members act as attackers and the others as defenders.

  3. zone collector - The last game is a team game too. Frankly, laser battle game is best played in team compared to solo. Same as above, each team occupied a base. We shoot at opponent players to score. However the score is only stored temparily in the gun, you have to finalise it by coming back to your base and shoot at the sensor after collecting at least 500 points. Oh yea, points in your gun will be deducted when you get shot, but not after it's been finalised. The score are varied depending on the distance and shooting spot. Any points remaining in your gun which haven't "transfer" to your base will be voided when the game end. This is the game I personally enjoyed the most, not sure is it because I performed better after some practice in the previous games or not. Haha.

Overall, it's a great entertainment, and sport too. We felt like been through a session of gym after the game. It's also a good team building event since it helps in improving trust, cooperation and effective communication. It's best for family too, a group activity which is much better than playing video games at home/cyber cafe.
