Heritage Hotel Review in October 2008

Since my family shifted to Kuala Lumpur, I’ll be staying in hotels whenever back at Ipoh. Heritage Hotel review is my first review. I’ll try to stay in various hotels to give you all my personal hotels reviews. Hope this will help you when planning and deciding the place to stay when visiting Ipoh.

Here is my Heritage Hotel review:

Based on the good feedbacks from my friend and my mother’s previous stay in Heritage Hotel, we were looking forward to have a nice stay in the hotel.

Upon inquiring, the front office person recommended us to stay in the newly renovated standard room at RM158 instead of the non-renovated standard room at RM138. We took the offer and check-in happily.

When we took the lift up to 9th floor, the view is quite good, as there is open space in the middle of the building, from 2nd floor up to the top floor. Sunlight is showering from the transparent roof. Just a little complain, which is there is some sort of stinky smell caused by things being exposed to strong sunlight. Perhaps they need better air circulation system.

Back to the NEWLY renovated standard room. We opened the door, and we were thinking if they gave us the wrong key. Because the room condition doesn’t look like newly renovated at all!

The ceiling needs to be fixed. The chair’s cushion fabric has a big hole. The bed comforter is dirty, with a red spot which I don’t want to know what that is. The television is blinking off and on.

And then, I phoned receptionist to inquiry on the Internet service. They told me that there is no free internet service. I have to buy some sort of card with RM28, activate it and I’ll have unlimited internet access for 30 days.

…… I am not going to stay there for 30 days! Why would I need a 30 days internet access? So, it will be RM28 for 1 day unlimited internet access. Argh, forget about it!

Since we were confused with the ‘newly’ renovated room, we approached the front office person once we were getting out. Guess what? They replied that the room was renovated 4 years ago!

…… Oh my god! 4 years ago equals to recently? That’s why the room looks like overhauled. We feel like we were cheated to take the room.

And for your information, standard room is come with a queen-sized bed, which cannot be switched to 2 single beds room. In case you need 2 beds, you'll have to go for deluxe room.

Last but not least, the room comes with breakfast for one. The food is ok. And, that ends our stay in Heritage Hotel.

Oh yea, forgot to mention that the view from the hotel is very nice. Just as below:
