Best Choices of Budget Hotel Accommodation in Ipoh

Budget hotel is essential for budget control in a vacation trip. The money that you saved can spare for souvenirs, more interesting places to visit etc.

It is reasonable and understandable for you to choose an affordable hotel instead of a 5-stars hotel. Because the main "dish" of the trip is to visit as many places as you can, enjoy as many days as you can and taste as much delicious local food as you can.

However, even though the hotel is just for your stay at nights, I bet you still want a nice sleep, right? That's why you can't simply go for any hotels.

There are many budget hotels in Ipoh. Make sure you are not getting one that is dirty, old, dark and lousy. Besides of the cleanliness, safety is another main concern. A safe hotel prevents you to be a victim of robbery.

That not only spoils your traveling mood but brings hassle, such as reporting to the police, re-apply for documents etc.

Therefore, after considering few factors, I have decided to introduce hotels below to you. It's not really very budget, as I mentioned above, I personally prioritize cleanliness and safety much more than price alone. So, I shall say that these hotels are just cheaper than the BIG 4 I've introduced in the Best Ipoh Hotel page.

Fair Park Hotel

This hotel located at Fair Park, just 5 minutes away from Ipoh city center. And, it is near to the Ipoh Sport Center (there are swimming pool, stadium, cycling track, tennis court, indoor badminton court, indoor squash court and etc.).

Every week, there will be "pasar pagi" (morning market) at the stadium car park area. You can get the best "ice kacang" (a local dessert, some sort of ice-blended with nuts, red beans etc.) at the stadium hawker stall too.

There are the old wing and new wing as a result of the hotel expansion. Room rate of new wing is slightly higher than old wing.

Besides ordinary rooms, you can choose for 1 of the 4 themed suites too.

If you are driving, you can park your car at the car park provided by the hotel. It is 24 hours security guarded.

Ipoh City Hotel

Ipoh City Hotel is considered as a budget hotel in city center. It has clean room and basic facilities with an affordable price.

I'd stayed there and it was a pleasant stay, comparative to the price we paid for it.

Every Sunday morning, there is a flea market nearby where you can spend some time for shopping there.

For you who don't want to stay at hotel

If you are a family/group of friends with more than 3 persons, most probably you'll have to book more than 1 hotel room. But, there's always another way to save you some money. You can rent a condo unit instead! It's cheaper than 2 rooms in a good hotel and with more capacity.

If you want to have more privacy, more flexibility, living in a house away from your home, you can also rent a condo unit instead!

• You can make yourself a simple meal with the microwave and fridge;
• You can wash your clothes/underwear and dry it with the washing machine and dryer;
• You have more space to put your luggage;
• You can swim at the swimming pool;
• You can play tennis at the tennis court;
• and so on…
